Boston Legal is an American legal drama and comedy drama television series created by former lawyer and Boston native David E. Kelley, produced in association with 20th Century Fox Television for ABC. The series aired from October 3, 2004, to December 8, 2008. The series stars James Spader, William Shatner and Candice Bergen. It is a direct spin-off and continuation of the TV series The Practice, with several characters from the eighth season of that series moving to Boston Legal. While never a Nielsen ratings smash hit, the show was critically acclaimed, receiving 26 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations, including for Outstanding Drama Series in 2007 and 2008.
The American producers of the series also hired the British writer and barrister John Mortimer (creator of the UK legal series Rumpole of the Bailey) as a consultant for Boston Legal.[10]
Suffolk Law is excited to partner with Liberty Mutual Insurance for the sixth annual Legal Design Challenge, which will run for a short evening session on Thursday, October 27 (orientation/welcome), and a full day on Friday, October 28, 2022. Once again, the event will be virtual, and will welcome student teams who register from programs across the country interested in legal innovation & technology.
The winning entries, using the tenets of design thinking, put an emphasis on simplicity, usefulness, and the needs of the end user. The teams have only one day to generate their ideas; that time pressure tends to spur creative solutions to legal service delivery challenges.
Ten years ago this month, the lawyers at Crane, Poole, and Schmidt arrived on television. Juxtaposing progressive ideas with an old-world style that included plenty of cigars and whiskey, Boston Legal breathed new life into one of television's most well-worn tropes: the legal thriller.
So there you have it, folks. Were you as happy with the finale as I was In your mind, is Denny cured Does his marriage to Alan last (They survived their first fight: Denny chose to have his first wedding dance with Shirley, and then led when he finally got around to Alan.) Does he get to know poor people and help Alan start his own legal aid firm Do the other lawyers work there And would you watch that show Denny and Alan pitched
Parents need to know that this quirky legal drama is laden with sexual innuendoes and references to drugs and alcohol. The inappropriate suggestions and dialogue also contributes to presenting an unrealistic depiction of the workplace.

The star of \"Boston Legal,\" James Spader, has won Emmys for his role as attorney Alan Shore, and he's famous for his passionate, lengthy legal arguments. In this scene, Alan and his fellow lawyers have just learned their law firm, Crane Poole & Schmidt, has been taken over by a Chinese consortium. The new owners have decided to fire all the litigation attorneys, but Alan threatens to have them fired instead and calls a meeting to state his case.
A CORI report is the official log of any charges brought against someone by the Commonwealth. The CORI Act attempts to balance the public interest in having access to criminal records against the interest of personal privacy. Because a prior criminal record can be used by employers and landlords to deprive deserving people of employment, housing and educational opportunities, Massachusetts law permits those individuals to have their records \"sealed\" from public view by meeting certain legal requirements. The CORI Sealing Clinic helps those who lack the knowledge or expertise to undertake this process or cannot afford an attorney to help.
For a period, no TV auteur was more successful or more recognizable than David E. Kelley. A former Boston attorney, he began his Hollywood career with a spec script for a now-forgotten legal comedy starring Judd Nelson. This led to Bochco hiring him as a staff writer for his series LA Law, where Kelley eventually rose to the position of supervising producer. After leaving that show, he created his first series, Picket Fences (1992-1996).
Now, I had thought Boston Legal was one of those legal shows where a defendant chopped up his spouse and fed her to his pet tiger ... and the defense team knows he's guilty, but champions the case anyway ... and the lead attorney sleeps with him ... and the tiger escapes in court ... blah, blah, blah. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of reality shows. I prefer fantasy myself, which is why I tune in to The West Wing. Ah, if only ...
